Exhibit: 50 Years of L’Arche

This exhibit, which marks the 50th anniversary of the beginnings of L’Arche, features material from the special collections of the Kelly Library including the Henri Nouwen Archives and the L’Arche Daybreak fonds.

L’Arche was founded in France in 1964 by Jean Vanier for people who have developmental disabilities. In L’Arche those will disability and those who come to assist share life and daytime activities together in family-like settings that are integrated into local neighbourhoods. Founded in 1969 in Richmond Hill, Ontario, L’Arche Daybreak is the oldest L’Arche community in North America.
